FINAL PERIODS 1,4,&7

For my final photo project, I wanted to do something that I never really tried, which was portraits. I think besides this I've only ever shot with a strobe in photo 1/2. It was a great learning experience and a fun way to end my year off. For my photos, I shot one of the people I'm the closet with: my friend Danielle. Danielle is an amazing friend who has been with me through the roughest of times, Through these photos I hope I was really able to capture the essence of her. In all of my photos, I wanted there to be  soft cool lighting which would really set the tone as neutral so Danielle would be more focused on. When many people look at Danielle all they expect is a sweet church going white girl. But she is so much more, and there are numerous layers to her, many of which i didn't capture. She laughs, she's serious, and she loves to be silly. Through my photos, i attempted to capture just a few emotions of Danielle, the things that make her. I'd say through the pictures that I took, that I was successful in capturing Danielle in her true element, while also being successful in shooting with the strobe.

3rd theme: Sun Spots

Theme Objective:
I decided to base my third theme around sun spots. I choose this theme, because I think that the lighting created by the sun, is the best there is. It's the time of day, and variables controlled in the image, that make my images different. Our sun is a beautiful and bi-polar thing that creates different types of lighting. Also, I think the colors that our sun casts off, can create different moods.

1st image:
For my first image I shot at the beach when the sun was setting. I Think what makes this image beautiful how the sun affected the color of the sky, and ocean. Also, the sun created a line down the photo which made it more interesting. I think that this piece creates a romantic setting, showing the emotion of love.

From here, I hope to catch the sun during a different time of day when the color and lighting effects will be different.

2nd Image:
In my second image, I shot during the morning when the sun was rising. i shot this image between the leaves on a tree, to show that the sun promotes the conecpt of life. Here, the sun promotes a clear blue sky, giving you a fresh feeling, making you feel reborn and new.

From here, I hope to catch the sun during a different time of day when the color and lighting effects will be different.

3rd Image:
For my third image, I shot midday. I think that this image promotes the feeling or concept of strength. Midday is usually when people are most active, and (when out) the sun gives us energy to continue with our everyday activities.

From here, I hope to catch the sun during a different time of day when the color and lighting effects will be different.

 4th Image:

For my Fourth image, I caught the sun right before it went down. By throwing the hand into this image, I think that it symbolizes our dependency on the sun. Unknowingly, we use the sun in our everyday lives. In fact, without the suns rays of light humankind would die off, because we wouldn't be able to survive. We'd be thrown into another Ice Age!

From here, I hope to catch the sun during a different time of day when the color and lighting effects will be different.

5th Image:
For my last image in this series, I captured the sun a couple minutes before it was setting. I think that through this image, you get the feeling of renewle. The sun is setting, and and new day will begin making each person feel renewed.

2nd Theme: Beach setting

Theme Objective:
For this theme, I'm trying to show a beach setting. By doing this I want to photograph everything that you may find when you got to the beach.

1st Image:
In this image I wanted to show the "beach" theme by photographing an odd activity that you may not see everyday when you got to the beach. From here I hope to continue my theme by showing ocean wildlife.

2nd Image:

In this image, I continued my beach theme by photographing the ocean wildlife. I think that this image connects to my beach theme by showing the things you may find when you spend a day at the beach. From here I hope to continue my theme By showing other activities you can do at the beach besides swimming.

3rd Image:

In this image, i continued my beach theme by photographing a couple of surfers. I shot this image to show other activities people do when they go to the beach. From here I want to continue my theme by shooting landscape at the beach.

4th Image:
This image portrays my beach theme, through showing a setting or landscape you may come across when you go to the beach. This is something that you may come across when you're exploring the tide pools. From here I'd like to continue my theme by showing human interactions at the beach.

5th Image:
My last image in my theme, portrays human interactions at the beach. This image entices the adventures that you could have at the beach. And the things you could explore.

image 11

In this image I tried to show the correspondence between humans and nature through texture. The half of the girls face is close to that on the bark of the tree. By the girl looking into the tree it shows our curiosity of nature that drives our need to change it.

Through this image, I tried to reveal the connections between mankind and nature through shadows. The paralell lines in the image symbolize how we have to co-exist. As you can see, only one line in this image is an arm, yet once you reconigze the arm you focus on it more than the shadows of the trees. This reveals, that mankinds presence here on earth overpowers that of natures.
